Chapter Meetings

The Audubon Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers usually meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 11:30am for a lunch meeting discussing important topics relating to the SH&E field. Meetings (unless otherwise noted) are held at the Casino Aztar Atlantic City Conference Room, located at 421 NW Riverside Drive, Evansville, IN 47708.

The meetings at Casino Aztar have been changed to allow for those who would like lunch to use the buffet in the Temptations Buffet restaurant and bring the food to the conference room. Ice tea and water is provided. The cost is approximately $11.00 (includes gratuity).

Overhead Material Handling Regulations

Presentation by Chad Walker and Scott Lane

Chad will be reviewing plant requirements to conform to OSHA 1910.179 including:

In addition, CMAA Spec 78 (Standards and Guidelines for Professional Services Performed On Overhead and Traveling Cranes and Associated Hoisting Equipment) will be reviewed including:

Chad Walker spent 17 ½ years at AK steel in Ohio. He began his working career in production safety, moved on to equipment operator safety, Maintenance, and general plant safety.

Scott has been with Konecranes for 10 ½ years, He started out as a technician and worked his way through the ranks to his current position of Branch Manager for the Evansville location. Prior to Konecranes, Scott spent 4 years in the Navy as an Aviation Electrician.

2010 ASSE Audubon Chapter Golf Scramble

Monday, August 9, 2010 - 11:00am - Oak Meadow Golf Course; Evansville, IN

Grab your clubs, hit the links and help support ASSE at our 2010 Golf Scramble! Non-golfers welcomed and encourages! A scramble means a team of four players will shoot from the best ball at each hole. The Scramble registration fee includes lunch, driving range, greens fees, and golf cart. Team and door prizes will be awarded. Bring a guest and promote safety in the workplace!
